Our Projects

Brief History & Experience:
A brief description of some of the major projects is given in the following section:

EIA project
EIA of Exploratory Drilling for Reliance Industries Ltd, Block-18

ALSAFA ETS is undertaking the EIA for exploratory drilling at Block -18, Oman. This EIA involves baseline marine and terrestrial surveys, analysis of alternatives, identification of environmental releases and associated impacts, mitigation measures and environmental management plan. As part of the EIA as SIA (Social Impact Assessment) will also be undertaken.

EIA for Tourist Resort at Ras Al-Hadd
ALSAFA ETS was appointed by Al Shatti Trading Co. LLC to undertake the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the proposed tourist resort at Ras Al-Hadd, Sur. The development includes a diving centre, chalets, a swimming pool, a museum and a research centre.

EIA for Flying Club and Resort Development
On the behalf of Gulf Space International LLC, ALSAFA ETS prepared an Environmental Impact Assessment for the proposed Flying Club and Resort Development in Quriat Oman.

EIA for Exploratory Drilling, Musandam Governorate
On the behalf of Hunt Oman Musandam Exploration Company (Hunt Musandam) ALSAFA ETS prepared an EIA for the proposed offshore exploratory drilling within Block-40 in Oman. The EIA study identified and evaluated all significant impacts from the project activities on the environment and developed appropriate environmental management plans for the mitigation of all potential adverse impacts.

EIA for Proposed Cement Gypsum Production Plant at Sohar Industrial Area
ALSAFA ETS has completed the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the proposed cement plant (commissioning), and operation of the proposed cement plant at Sohar Industrial Area. The proposed plant will produce annual production target of 1.5 million tonnes. The proposed plant will manufacture ordinary Portland cement having product fineness within 3200-3400 cm2/g.

EIA for Lube Oil Blending Plant at Sohar Industrial Estate
ALSAFA ETS was appointed by Sohar Lube Oil Company LLC to undertake the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the construction (commissioning), operation and decommissioning of the proposed ‘lube oil blending plant to be located in Sohar Industrial Estate, Sultanate of Oman with an installed capacity of 60 barrels per hour.

EIA for Cement Factory at Rawdha, Mahdha Wilayate
ALSAFA ETS undertook the EIA for the construction (commissioning), operation and decommissioning of the proposed cement plant to be located in Rawdha, Mahdha wilayate, Sultanate of Oman.

EIA for Potassium Permanganate Plant at Sohar Industrial Area
ALSAFA ETS was appointed by PSONS International Chemicals LLC to undertake EIA for their plant at Sohar Industrial Area (SIA) with an annual production capacity of 4000 MT.

EIA for Aluminium Dross Plant at Sohar Industrial Area
ALSAFA ETS undertook the EIA for the proposed 25,000 ton per year aluminium dross plant at Sohar Industrial Area (SIA), Oman.

OMIFCO EIA Update
ALSAFA ETS is working with Oman India Fertiliser Company (OMIFCO), Sur for undertaking an EIA Update for their existing Plant which is designed to manufacture ammonia at a rate of 3500 MTPD and urea at a rate of 5060 MTPD.

OMIFCO Marine Survey
ALSAFA ETS has been awarded the second phase (2008-2011) of the Monitoring Programme of the OMIFCO’s Marine Exclusive Zone. Coastal ecosystems (coral reefs and algal mats) and migrating endangered species using the area as feeding grounds such as sea turtles are being surveyed. Seawater quality (nutrients and trace metals) have also been monitored as well as seawater temperature. Finally, ALSAFA ETS has also been monitoring the status of OMIFCO Marine Infrastructures (jetties, intake pipes and cage, outfall pipe and diffusers).

OPP HSE system ISO  Adequacy
ALSAFA ETS is undertaking the consultancy services of assessing OPP QHSE Management System according to ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 standards, as well as providing the consultancy support of enhancing the QHSE Management System in to get the ISO 9001, 14001, and 18001 certification.


Other projects

Contaminated Site Cleanup and Remediation
ALSAFA ETS is the first company in Oman to undertake the clean-up & remediation of a heavily contaminated site (Zauliyah) within the Petroleum Development Oman LLC (PDO) – a Shell International Group Company in Oman. A several million dollar project, Zauliyah envisages excavating and remediating approximately 60,000 m3 of contaminated soil spread over an area of more than 80,000m2.

PDO Fire fighting Service Contract :

Hazardous Waste Management
ALSAFA ETS has worked with PDO for the Management and Transportation of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORM) at PDO assets. The contaminated material was tested for radiation levels, capped, and transported to the hazardous waste management area. All the personnel involved in the project were adequately trained and provided with PPE to reduce health impacts of radiation.

Total Environmental Management
ALSAFA ETS is working with Al-Intaj Sulpho-chemical Industries LLC for the provision of complete environmental services including wastewater management, air pollution abatement, solid waste management, noise attenuation, indoor air quality management, housekeeping, and material storage.

Solid Waste Management
ALSAFA ETS has partnered with CABINET MERLIN France to provide consultancy services to the Ministry of National Economy and Muscat Municipality for the first ever sanitary landfill facility in Oman.
